We work with a number of GP practices and PCNs to support the clinical development of their practice pharmacy teams. These teams may be employed directly by the PCNs rather than GreenLight. As
Associates of GL@GP your practice based pharmacy team would receive access to,
1. Shadowing
Depending on the requirements of the practice and the training needs of the pharmacist, shadowing/learning opportunities will be arranged with GL@GP pharmacists up to a maximum of twice in the period of the contract.
2. Workshops & training events
Our team of PBPs supported by external specialists and GP partners have developed and will deliver a series of clinical workshops to update knowledge and application of learning to case-based scenarios. Pharmacists will be notified of the dates and topics and encouraged to participate. An attendance record can be made available to the Commissioner if necessary. The topics are determined by participants through feedback.
3. Networking & Learning sets
The participants meet three times a month for 2 hours to network, exchange ideas and support each other in the development of new services in their respective practices/PCNs.
4. On-site support
Alternatively, a senior PBP (commissioned through a separate arrangement) will visit the practice to support the pharmacist and to provide feedback on consultation skills and approach to repeat prescription services when necessary &/or as requested.
5. Telephone support
The GreenLight@GP Pharmacist Director will support pharmacists on the phone to ‘trouble shoot’ issues/challenges/problems, signposting to appropriate PCN/Practice clinicians withing the GL@GP team for further help and support.
6. Training & support on-line platform
All Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians have access to the GL@GP on-line platform which includes General Practice resources and recordings of the workshops and training events.
